The Mane Satkar Scholarship (Value Rs. 350/- tenable for 1 year)

Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of aggregate marks at the HSC examination of the Maharashtra State Board (Mumbai Division) from among the applicants who are sons/daughters/wards of persons, who in the area of Greater Mumbai, are
in the occupation involving manual labour, provided the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed Rs. 2000/- p.m.

The Late Rao Saheb Vishwanath Narayan Mandlik Prize (Value Rs. 125/- in books)

Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of aggregate marks at the HSC examination of the Maharashtra State Board (Mumbai Division) from among the applicants whose parent’s/guardian’s income does not exceed Rs. 2000/- per month on condition that he pursues his studies for the First Year course of study for any of the first degree in the faculty of Technology of this University.

• (TYBCOM EXAMINATION)

The Dr. R. V. Bhagwat Prize (Value Rs. 630/- in cash)

Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate from among the applicants who are sons/daughters of teachers in Degree Colleges affiliated to this University, provided the candidate passes the TYBCOM examination at the first attempt. Applicants are required to forward the certificate to the effect that they are sons/daughters of teachers in Degree Colleges affiliated to this University.

The Late Bai Annapurnabai Vishwanath Mandlik Prize (Value Rs.125/-in books)

Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of aggregate marks at the TYBCOM examination from among the applicants whose parents/guardians income does not exceed Rs. 2000/- per month on condition that he pursues his studies for the M.Com. Degree examination.

Ten Scholarships awarded of Rs.6000/- p.a. each for Research in Science & Technology in India in the subjects as listed in the University Circular. These scholarships are open for competition to ALL COMMUNITIES

University Research Studentships of Rs.800/- Per Month

Awarded to enable research students to undertake research work on any subject in the Faculty of Commerce. The studentships are open to students who have obtained either a Master’s Degree or a Doctor’s Degree of this University, working in Institutions, under recognized University and teachers within the territorial limits of the Jurisdiction of this University.
Students who have secured a pass class and who are in full-time employment will not be considered for the award of the studentships.

Government Daxina Fellowships of (Rs. 250/- Per Month)

Four Fellowships have been allotted to this University by the Government of Maharashtra to those students who have obtained first class at the first-degree examinations of this University. The fellowships are open to students reading in University Departments in subject of Arts, Commerce, Science and Law (i.e. Humanities & Social Sciences) as well as in Non-Government Arts, Commerce, Science and Law colleges affiliated to this University. The fellows are required to read for a Master’s degree of this University by papers.

• FOR TEACHERS :

SIR MANGALDAS NATHUBHAI TRAVEL GRANTS FOR TEACHERS & RESEARCH SCHOLARS FOR THE YEAR 2018

Applications are hereby invited from eligible teachers and research scholars of this University, preferably Hindus, for going abroad to attend seminars, to participate in symposia or to attend short courses, or for updating their knowledge or for catching up with the latest techniques and progress in any of the following subjects

    • [a] Computer Science
      [b] Environmental Science
      [c] Pollution Control
      [d] Biotechnology
      [e] Genetic Engineering
      [f] Life Sciences
      [g] Industrial Engineering
      [h] Mathematics and
      [i] Such other Modern Scientific, Technological, Industrial & Engineering subjects as may be approved by the Management Council of this University. Excluding the M.B.A. Course.

The teachers who are confirmed in permanent full-time service and who have put in at-least five years of continuous service in the University are eligible to apply for the travel grant, as per Regulation 2 of the regulations relating to the travel grants. However, the regulation do not provide for the eligibility criterion for research scholars. The travel grants will be a contribution towards travel expenses and may cover a single journey or return journey as the case may be. The travel grants will be available in any foreign country noted for advanced research in the above subjects.

The maximum amount of a single travel grant will be Rs.12,500/- or actual travel expenditure, whichever is less. Two travel grants will be awarded every year aggregating to maximum amount of Rs.25,000/- per annum or actual travel expenditure, whichever is less.

No grantee that has been awarded the travel once will be eligible for any further award of the travel grant for a period of three years after return to India. The grantees shall bear the excess amount of expenditure on travel, air-port tax etc., from their own resources or from any other source.

The candidates selected for the award of travel grants should travel in Economy Class by Air-India on sectors where it operates, and on sectors where it does not operate, air passage should, as far as possible, be booked through Air India. The candidates should, as far as possible avail of excursion tickets for air travel. The travel grants include the international travel, maintenance allowance, boarding, lodging, incidental expenses and internal travel within the foreign country concerned.

The grantees shall submit to the University through the Head of their Institution a report of the seminar, symposia or courses attended by them in the foreign country and a statement of accounts duly supported by vouchers in original, whenever possible, till the grant is fully utilized. The applications for the travel grants shall be forwarded to the University through the Head of the Institution along-with an attested copy of each of the following documents

  • (a) A full paper prepared by the applicant for presentation at an International seminar/symposia/conference;(b) Name of the foreign country, place and duration of the International seminar etc., in which the paper mentioned at (a) above is proposed to be presented;

    (c) A letter from the organizers of the seminar accepting the paper for presentation or a letter from the organizers of the seminar inviting the applicant to attend the seminar etc.
